Laxma Gaud was born in Nizampur, Andhra Pradesh in 1940.
EDUCATION
After a diploma in drawing and painting from the Government College of Art and Architecture, Hydrabad in 1963 he studied mural painting and printmaking at M.S. University, Baroda (1963-65).
EXHIBITIONS
He has participated in many important shows, including Ansell Gallery, London. 1973 "Figuritive Indian Artists" Warsaw, Budapest, Munich, Germany, Tokyo Print Biennale, all in 1976. Sao Paulo Goethe Institute, Biennale, Brazil, 1977; "India in Print", Konninklijk Institute Vorde, Amsterdam, 1983 and various other group and solo shows in India and abroad. He lives and works in Hyderabad. Gaud is known for his graceful, yet powerful line drawings, etchings and water colors.
