- Diploma in painting from Madras School of Arts and Crafts in 1953.
- Lecturer in the Govt. College Arts and Crafts and served as the Principal from 1985-90.

- Participated in several exhibitions including the Comissioner for Triennale show held in Brazil, organized by Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi in 1988.
- Three Indian Painters, organized by The British Council, Madras in 1966.

- He has received a large number of awards including the Gold Medal from the Govt. College of Arts and Crafts, Madras, 1953.
- 1954-1956 received the Govt. of India scholarship for his Post-Graduate.
